Although India obtained freedom from the British in 1947, Goa and it's territories are still ruled by the Portuguese. A group of revolutionaries want a free Goa and are thus wanted by the Portuguese administration. Amongst them are Purandare, Narvekar, and Dinanath, and when Dinanath's whereabouts are known to the police, he escapes with his young son, Ramdas, and goes to their hideout. With the assistance of Purandare they do manage to escape but are shot. A horrified Ramdas watches as his dad is shot dead by Purandare. This is how Ramdas starts hating revolutionaries. Ramdas changes his name to Ronnie, befriends a girl named Julie, and grows up taking to crime as his career. He soon prospers and lets the villagers also prosper with him. Then when the Police Commissioner is shot dead, Ronnie helps the authorities to apprehend his killer, who is a young man named Shekhar, who is arrested, tried in Court, and sentenced to be hanged. Criminal Vikram Singh is arrested for possession of drugs thus the case is called up in a court of law which forces him to approach his lawyer friend, Amit but instead of favoring for him Amit gets him prosecuted. Shortly after Vikram gets released from jail framing Amit for the killing of his associate, Rajan. On the advice of his wife, Janaki Amit decides to run far-away to avoid getting arrested by the police. Meanwhile Janaki give birth to twin boys, Shankar and Guru; Shankar grows up to be a police officer but unfortunately Guru gets separated from her and grows up with an elderly couple. Ironically Amit now resides in Nepal where-by he is a well-respected multi-millionaire businessman, Rana Ranveer and has adopted a young girl, Manju who grows up with him. Fortunately the family gets united and plots to bring Vikram to justice.

Jacques Darnay (A. Delon) is caught and convicted of stealing diamonds and the murder of a jeweler. Although not guilty, the prisoner has served eight years. The jewels are not found so Jacques, after his release from prison, follows Inspector Rouxel (P. Mondy), and other criminals who are interested in where the prey.
